Sound Advice Part of Service Offered by Homecare Experts
Homecare Services has been providing assistance in South Dakota for 25 years, a mileston observed recently at the agency's open house. Taking part in the local event were (from left) Bob boehmer, cofounder and Agency Director; Ann Spitzenberger, Assistant Branch Coordinator, and Michelle Schneider, Brookings Branch Coordinator. The agency began in 1984 in Pierre with just two employees and now has offices in 11 locations throughout South Dakota and Minnesota.

Since 1984 Homecare Services has been dedicated to one mission: helping people.
When the agency was founded 25 years ago helping people meant providing the highest quality assistance to individuals who chose to continue living independently in their own homes.
Today, the organization is still providing those quality services, but the Homecare staff also wants to offer something that has additional value to individuals looking to find quality home care for themselves or a loved one: expert advice.

UNMATCHED EXPERIENCE
With a long history of working with families throughout the state, the organization has unparalleled experience and expertise, and it is making an effort to share that knowledge with the public.
Bob Boehmer Agency Director and Co-founder said, “Over the years we have successfully served a wide range of consumers- including the elderly and individuals with various disabilities, as well as people who are chronically ill or recovering from a medical procedure. This experience allows our organization to provide expert advice to families”.
Michelle Schneider, SDSU Nursing school graduate and Coordinator of Services in Brookings is deeply committed to delivering quality care and sound advice to residents of Brookings and surrounding communities.
“My focus for the past two years has been to bring the highest level of care to our clients," said Schneider. "We have dedicated and skilled staff who make a big difference in people’s lives.”
In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, Homecare Services has developed educational materials for distribution, and the information is also available on the agency's Web site.
“I love the new educational materials," Schneider said, "and the Web site is very user friendly. It provides good information and answers questions families have when faced with decisions about their loved ones.”
Schneider works with families on a daily basis assessing needs, making recommendations, and staffing care requests.
Homecare Services sees itself as a partner with other area service providers for individuals who need help, Schneider explained.
In some cases, in-home services may not be the best option for an individual or family.

KNOWING OPTIONS CRITICAL
"In these situations, Homecare Services is happy to work with families to make recommendations so that they can get the help that meets their needs."
“We are very fortunate to have so many resources available in our community. Working with these agencies allows me to offer advice on the options available.” Schneider explained.
Homecare Services is proud to provide a wide range of services to a wide range of individuals. In addition to providing services to individuals in their own homes, Homecare Services is providing services to college students on college campuses, residents in long-term care facilities, as well as patients in hospitals or rehab facilities.
The agency can schedule care anytime services are needed, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Homecare Services also provides 24 hour in-home care.
